Make My Day!

Whomever (mark?) used the right adjectives to pique my curiousity enough to buy The Wrens' Meadowlands deserves a big fat sloppy kiss.... unless of course it was mark or some other dude, in which case, a very firm, dry, sincere handshake is in order. (sniff) What I'm trying to say is this record is freakin' brilliant! Start to finish, it's a gem!! I owe's ya one! ;-)

Please do it again! ;-) (hubba, hubba)

OK, here are the latest batch of bands on my "interest" list.

Broken Social Scene. Pitchfork raved on this one as I recall. And I'm blown away by how reliable those guys have been. The Dandys are their only major-major miss that I can think of off the top of my head.

80's Matchbox. I don't think their record has had a US release, cos they don't even have a little placard yet.

Biffy Clyro. This is a band for the youngsters who like the Less than Jake stuff, eh? I'm not trying to slag 'em, just wanna make sure I'm right to avoid 'em. Is this a fair assessment?

So far I'd gotta fall into the Bloc Party/Kaiser Chiefs are flavor of the month decent, but I'm skeptical of their depth.

Oh, btw the Franz Ferdinand record is actually pretty good. Consider this recant the extent of my apology to FF. Sweeping statements without all the facts is what I do. If I had to apologize every time I've done that we'd have some really long posts... ;-)

Tell me about Stereolab, Low, Les Savy Fav, oh yeah especially Mission from Burma - are these guys punk or shoegazer or what? Pitchfork really likes em..., TV on the Radio.

Talk to me people!! Erm, and keep up the good work. I'll say it again, that Wrens record is the cat's meow, the bee's knees, the... the, well, you get the idea. It's killer, mon!!!
