timhulio [Edit] [Delete] 15:38, 10 May '06

Hello,
this Saturday sees some of the most exciting new bands in London play Bardens in Stoke Newington for a mere eighty pence. It'll be our last show in London for a month as we get down to some serious writing/recording so be sure not to miss it. And get there early as this is going to be very busy!
cheerio,
Tim sailplane

6pm-LATE 80p cover

The 80p festival will begin at 6pm and showcase a selection of wonderment for only 80p Yipeeeeee

Headless
http://www.myspace.com/headless
Emerging from the deepest darkest swamps of the underworld, Headless are four banshees who make sinister noise. They write songs about the shadows of our world today and will come to haunt your murky nightmares while you sleep

Die Die Deneuve -
These ladies are way too cool for myspace. They sound a bit like if johnny Cash played guitar in the Raincoats (c) Gemma Fleet

The Sailplanes
http://www.myspace.com/thesailplanes
taut, unsettling, unusually cinematic art-rock that conjures up black and white dreams of knife-wielding girls and breathless chases down narrow streets in some romantic old European capital

Clunes
www.myspace.com/clunes
Somewhere, very far away and very hard to find, there is a planet: Clunes. This beautiful but turbulent planet is populated by organisms (Clunes) who live for exactly one day. Each day the Clunes wake, work, relax, procreate and then die, wiped out in an enormous global war. Inspired lo-fi improv greatness from boys with glasses and curly locks

Atoms for Peace
www.myspace.com/atomsforpeace
After the nuclear holocaust this band will entertain the cockroaches and Mr T with their unique brand of interesting indie-pop prose

Wolfie
www.myspace.com/wolfieband
www.wolfie.ukme.com
Gigs seem to turn into parties while Wolfie are around. It's like Bratmobile got themselves new guitars and amps for Christmas along with The Raincoats, Slits and Penetration songbooks - Artrocker

1877

feedback , white walls, pedals

From 6pm Compare, Concept Bands, Open stage, competitions, prizes & Dj'ing
