DEAD DAYS BEYOND HELP + WEBSTER/HOLUB DUO 25/3 VORTEX

ratbastad [Edit] [Delete] 10:29, 21 February '13

DEAD DAYS BEYOND HELP are Alex Ward (guitar/vocals) and Jem Doulton (drums). Their music is an unpredictable mix of hyper-composed math-prog intricacy, emotively direct song material, and the freewheeling improvised explorations that those who know Ward from his work with the likes of Derek Bailey, Steve Noble, Lol Coxhill and Eugene Chadbourne might expect. Their latest album "The Game Face" is out now on Copepod Records.

COLIN WEBSTER and MARK HOLUB are a free jazz duo based in London and Vienna. Combining high energy saxophone, and barrages of hyperkinetic drumming their live sets move between raucous ebullience, grinding negativity, and reflective meditation. The duo's album 'The Claw' was released on Raw Tonk Records last year. They also collaborated with French guitarist Sheik Anorak on a live album 'Languages..' released last year on Gaffer Records.
