Shapes

Birmingham three-piece Shapes combine the power of post-hardcore, the technicality of mathcore and the uplifting fist-in-the-air ethic of punk rock to produce what can quite simply be described as an aural kick in the balls. Taking influence from such heavy-hitters as These Arms Are Snakes, The Mars Volta and former label mates (and the dearly missed) Meet Me In St Louis, Shapes incorporate blistering beats, psychotic guitars and punishing drums into a performance that is both energetic and unforgettable. Shapes are not for the weak-hearted, you better get strapped in.

“With seismic riffage, spasmodic drums and ADHD time signiatures a plent… Stunning stuff” – Rock Sound

“For anyone looking for a band with energy, passion, enthusiasm and a naughty streak… well look no further” – Punktastic

“A gut level thrill in a sweaty way” – Kerrang

These Monsters

You could categorize These Monsters as post-rock, but that would be a pretty lazy categorization. This Leeds based four-piece can be more aptly described as a freaked out, riff driven prog-force, they are avant-garde sonic-noise-rock, oh and they have a saxophonist, not the most common member in your usual post-rock foursome. Whatever their genre, These Monsters are experimental without ever being pretentious and the energy, power and concise nature of their live shows has quickly earned them a reputation. Not to be missed.

Munroe Effect

Portsmouth mob Munroe Effect demand your attention from the get-go. Dynamic and powerful they play what they describe as ‘schizophrenic rock music’. With heavy bursts of aggression punctuating moody hooks, layered soundscapes and angular riffs, Munroe Effect are all over the place, in the best possible way.
