TICKLEY FEATHER

Tickley Feather is the nom de plume of Philadelphian resident Annie Sachs. Her self titled debut album, on Animal Collective's PAW TRACKS label is a collection of Late Night path-finding sounds, gingerly home recorded using budget electronics. Selected from the past four years, these songs are washed in effects and demonstrate a barbaric yet meticulous instrumentation, along with a, paradoxically, otherworldly and natural vocal style. It adds up to a very personal sound which involves all sorts of sensations from serendipity to silliness, a sweet and eerie sound of her little boy's voice as he tells her his ideas.
Her recordings have brought praise and comparisons to work by artists such as Syd Barrett, Kate Bush, and Gilli Smith, and all the while being given credit for having a sound that is completely its own...

THE HALF SISTERS

In 2008 sisters Isadora, Freya-Rose & half sister Fifi started playing and creating music together. Performing to family, friends and busking in the lanes of their home town Brighton, The Half Sisters were born. Ukulele, flute, jazz drums and beautiful vocal harmonies breathes fresh air of new, young talent in an age where computer puke & synth rock dominate the charts. They know how to keep it simple and are producing unique catchy songs that transcend a diverse range of age groups. They deliver a driven twist to indie music, adorable love ballads to arms flailing stomping fun music. They give something new for the kids of today and something back to generations past. Their energy on stage is infectious to any audience they cross paths with and being sisters they convey an inspiring & strong sense of unity. Today The Half Sisters are drumming up quite a reputation for themselves in London and Brighton venues as well as on the streets where their hearts are painted.

LOVE.STOP.REPEAT

"In an alternate reality,Dave Con Brio carves soundscapes and adventures outof discardedsentiment and unused time (of which he finds plenty).Back in the real world, Lindsay renders audiences helplesswith touching song and haunting beauty.

Many moons ago, under cover of darkness, Dave crepthis way into Lindsay's band in an attempt to bringher powers crashing down with the force of his fearsomedrumming. However, Lindsay was too strong; Dave failed, but in the wake, like a phoenix from the ashes, rises....

ANIMAL MAGIC TRICKS

Anyone who has bought Animal Magic Tricks lovely Soil album (available from her MySpace page) will know of Frances’ electronic low-fi scratching, which brings a mysteriously elusive atmosphere to her songs. Anyone who hasn’t bought her album should. Her voice sounds fragile, but when she opens the valves she actually has a pretty impressive set of pipes on her. Her voice is gorgeous actually, and complements the roughness of the music beautifully. Recently she’s been playing with a cellist – Pete from the Leg (Fence), specifically, who also plays with Alex Cornish – and the combination is bloody lovely.
