that miss this next show!

Hello!!!!
The Next Damnably GIG Is:

Damnably Presents… ‘We Vs Death’
w/ smallgang, Head of Programmes and Mordros
29th October – Barden’s Boudoir
8pm – £5.00 Advance £6.00 on the Door

We Vs Death (BEEP! BEEP! BACK UP THE TRUCK)
Formed in Utrecht Netherlands in 2000, the 5 piece originally called themselves Dylman’s Disco Method, but they quickly dropped this for We vs. Death when they discovered their talent for an intense and majestic form of post rock. Now, as the band release their second album A Black House, A Coloured Home, they have even stuck on a bit of singing! What will the post-rock scene make of it! Glorious!
“like a ghost story with a happy ending” Decoy Music

smallgang (Hooked Up)
North London art rockers have just finished their debut album ‘Labours’. The band are made up of half Japanese rock siblings Simon and Toshi, and married rhythm section Ruth and Matt. As you would expect from such close relationships, the band are tight and seem like almost one hive-minded on stage . They mine a smooth baritone voiced Smog-meets-Dinosaur Jr via the Go-Betweens distorto-pop sound and are set to break into your hearts this year and steal important bits.
“Smallgang have pop sensibilities with a forlorn twist. If you’re a regular All Tomorrows Parties punter then this slice of melancholy pop is for you” Artrocker
“… odd mash up of Pavement, Kings Of Leon and Smog esque vocals. Sounds crazy but it does work.” Norman Records

Head Of Programmes
…is essentially the alias of James MacGregor, a singer/songwriter based in South West England, who writes simple songs that wander the same paths of love, joy and failure profered by Smog or Sun Kill Moon, producing a beautiful sad alt-country meets indie rock sound. He has played shows with Mount Eerie/The Microphones, The Low Lows and Alisdair Roberts amongst others. Head Of Programmes debut release, The Magnetic South was released in Dec 2008 on FoundObjective.
“Magnificent…a timeless melancholy masterpiece” The Fly
“This band oozes the kind of stark, understated melancholy that the likes of Leonard Cohen, Smog and Red House Painters have turned into an art-form” 24/7 Magazine
“Better than Bon Iver” Tasty Fanzine

Mordros
North London’s Sonic Youth-meets-Swirlies via Robert Wyatt. Ultra arty, no-waver, postslacker, Anglo/Swede boy-girl-boy-girl four piece. Beautiful music made by members of XFM/Radio One favorites Fantaplastic.
Plus! Damnably DJs!
