NORTHSOUTHDIVIDE @ 93 FEET EAST, LONDON!!

2 ROOMS // 5 BANDS // 4 DJS // 730PM - 1AM // £5 GUESTLIST!!

LOWLINE

Lowline are intense and sinister yet totally up lifting. They are group of mates in their early twenties who formed in the spring of 2007 and spent the rest of that year writing, locked away in a warehouse in Manchester’s less-than-glamorous Ancoats district. There are flashes of inspiration from cult legends The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine, but they strike a rare balance between razor sharp rock and roll, and epic shoegaze. Lowline’s intense guitar sound is underpinned by tribal house tinged drums and fuzzed up bass lines, as all combine to make something with energy, atmosphere and spirit.

"Arguably the most exciting new band to have emerged from Manchester in recent times." -
Guardian Online (Artist of the day)

“Lowline make timeless music like no one can at the moment. Music with balls” - Nick Mccabe (The Verve)

FOX FORCE FIVE

Formed in late 2007 from the ashes of less illustrious outfits, Fox Force Five's eloquent songcraft is set to blaze a trail through the UK music scene. The Pictures & Puzzles EP stands this Manchester band apart from the current dirge of landfill Indie and pretentious identikit Electro. Fox Force Five boast deftly woven songs played by hungry young men who mean every last drop.

Last year was largely spent honing these talents in the live arena. A hometown debut at Danny McNamara's Aftershow club night was followed impressively by a strongly attended Sunday evening slot at the city's fledgling MAPS Festival. The band's raucous first London appearance at Alan McGee's Death Disco in November was preceded by an emphatic support slot with The Music in October. 2008 kicked off with a sold-out headline appearance at Manchester's Roadhouse. Pictures & Puzzles will be released on iTunes on Monday 25th May
