Silver Rocket presents:

EVER SINCE THE LAKE CAUGHT FIRE

HREĐA

DEATH OF LONDON

THEO

85 BEARS

plus the Silver Rocket club.

EVER SINCE THE LAKE CAUGHT FIRE

Proper British, American-influenced indie-rock. Like Idlewild when they were more edgy and less mainstream. Like …Trail of Dead when they were new and exciting. Why these guys aren’t stars yet is beyond me.

'The five-piece have a commanding stage presence as a group and it’s difficult not to give them your full attention. Background music it aint.' – NARC

'Their mathematically induced alt.rock keeps the spirit of At The Drive In and yourcodenameis:milo very much alive. What they also add is a youthful vigour and appetite for twisted guitar hooks.' - Manchester Music

HREĐA

Melodic post-rock with riff driven harmonies that develop into guitar driven epics

“With guiding contours of narrative structure, HREÐA construct nourishing musical highs and lows like mini-rockist motion pictures.” – Drowned In Sound

"In the World of post-rock, Hreda manage the tricky art of being both pensive and cathartic. Their guitars have obviously had a good massage from Steve Albini and they know how to work the hypnotic angle to a tee. The slower sections of their set give the odd feeling of being underwater, while the more textured blasts are akin to being brought upwards to glide low over the ocean. No, scratch that Hreda ARE the ocean; a large, exquisite, glistening expanse that is all too easy to get carried away with." - Nightshift 2007

DEATH OF LONDON

Post-hardcore from Leicester, sounding like Part Chimp sitting down to tea with Fugazi.

“Death Of London are effortlessly tight, astonishingly loud, and the only band on the bill that make us all long for a circle pit – the band hang together as tight as a vice. Death Of London are one of only a few bands in Leicester who sound like they mean it, and sound like they know what they’re doing. This is loud, but it’s also smart – and that’s what makes it so perfect.” – Rockfood

THEO

Theo is a one man band .... guitars + loops + drums = sound. Managing to create complex, math-rock sounds all on his own, Sam is like a one man Battles.

“Theo, the work of one Sam Knight, is one for the math rock fans. Taut, chugging guitar loops layer up with frenetic tapping patterns that interweave in spiralling complexity before near sub-atomically precise, powerhouse drumming clatters and builds each song into juggernaut of riffs and rhythms. To achieve something like this recorded is one thing, but to see Theo perform live is quite another as each song blurs into the next and the dazzling guitar and drum acrobatics leave jaws sagging on the faces of all who bear witness to the talent on offer. – God Is In The TV

85 BEARS

More post/math-rock, like Don Caballero but with more pop sensibilities

“85 bears, who hail from the Eastern side of London town conjure up a sound that recalls the Scenes of early 90's Kentucky, mid 90's Chicago and late 90's Pennsylvania. Driven by beats that sound like the spawn of a John Bonham/Damon Che love child, the rumbling but melodic basslines carry along the angular guitars. Although vocal-less, this goes totally unnoticed with the intricacy yet subtle dynamics of their 'tunes'(not songs!)” – RemoteGoat.co.uk
