Wonky pop @ matter 20.03.09 w/ Tinchy Stryder, Heartbreak, Gary Numan and more!

matter [Edit] [Delete] 10:52, 12 March '09

The Wonky Popsters present their most thrillingly eclectic line-up yet, with a bill that charts pop’s varied forms spanning the influence of 5 decades: the live roster presents none-more-modern grime pop from chart-mainstay Tinchy Stryder, 60s girl group fun with The Pipettes, italo-disco glam from London duo Heartbreak and 80 electro pop from Defend Moscow.
On the DJ front we’ve got a couple of pop’s most influential artists: William Orbit, who helped create one of the definitive pop albums of the modern era – Madonna’s Ray of Light – and Gary Numan, who with the Tubeway Army was among the late-70s pioneers who forged the synthesizer sounds that are borrowed so heavily by today’s pop artistes. Come join our friends eclectic on Friday 20th.

Room 2 hosted by Circus
