10th November @ The Macbeth, 70 Hoxton Street, London
£6 / £4 in advance from We Got Tickets

Doors @ 8pm

November’s Goodbye, Faithful Kingdom! brings another eclectic bunch of bands. Headlining we have Tenebrous Liar who sit somewhere between Shellac and Mogwai and feature legendary rock photographer Steve Gullick. We’re lucky to have them headline before they hit the road with Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds later in the year. The Monroe Transfer will be providing a majestic dose of orchestral infused rock and Smoke Fairies will be charming us with their blues inflected folk. The London based artists, writers and curators Pil and Galia Kollectiv will be spinning some wondrous tunes between and after the bands too, which all adds up to a winning night!

TENEBROUS LIAR

Tenebrous Liar have just released a new album entitled ‘Last Stand’ which TimeOut describe as “moody and intense, occasionally terrifyingly primal”. They have toured with Josh T Pearson and Mark Lanegan and contain amongst their members the 8th Coolest Person in Britain according to The Observer, who were clearly pretending to be The NME at the time of publishing that!

“Imagine Lift To Experience stuck in the eternal damnation their songs tried to escape from, but with a result more ashcan reality than spiritually vivid.” Drowned In Sound.

“Tenebrous Liar occupies a murky place in a collective musical psyche that may make your stereo frown… really good.” Mojo

“There's a epic feel to many of the tracks, a slow and pensive that is reminiscent of Leafcutter John, building a mood a thrash against the rocks. But it's harder, more bare, more exposed, with an edge, like Mugison.” new-noise.net

THE MONROE TRANSFER
http://www.myspace.com/electricoldwirenoise

The Monroe Transfer are a UK-based, 7-piece group, making beautifully detailed and passionately executed instrumental music on a variety of instruments. Forthcoming releases include a unique CD & DVD double-pack of ‘I Dreamt I Was A Hammer And Everything Was Glass’, featuring animated film by Gemma Burditt to be released on Organ Grinder Records.

"At their most beautiful they’re able to lightly brush the places that so few other instrumental acts can...it’s exciting when a band that features not a single singer is able to take you away to someplace other than the here and now on fabulous waves of orchestral sound. The Monroe Transfer, at their most beautiful, are that band." - Drowned in Sound

SMOKE FAIRIES
http://www.myspace.com/smokefairies

Smoke Fairies are a two piece band who clearly don’t like to sit still. In their relatively short time on this planet they have lived in various cities including Vancouver, New Orleans and now London. This travelling is ingrained within their music and each song takes you on a journey. They have experienced life together and seem to have one of those unique bonds only siblings have. This is of course reflected in the close knit nature of their music, with expressive vocal and guitar lines weaving around each other like inseparable hummingbirds.

"frankly the best thing I have heard in years" - Richard Hawley

"These girls are Bob Dylan's dream" - Channel4.com

"Spectral folk-blues… takes us from the spooky, medieval sounds of Sussex to finger-picking in a Catskills Shack and on into blues-soaked New Orleans" - Timeout
