Laurel Collective are a London-based six piece from all over – England, Wales, Nigeria and Italy. Their music is a scintillating, experimental, party-starting and ultimately hook-filled blend of indie, rock, electro and dancehall. Their live show, consisting of the battling vocals of Bob Tollast and Martin Sakutu, as well occasional impromptu covers (see their twisted take on Micachu’s ‘Golden Phone’) is not something to be missed. They’ve recently released a mini album on Double Six, a sub of the venerable Domino, which has been received with open arms by press and public alike – catch them now in a small venue while you still can.

With her voice and striking guitar playing ANNA CALVI transports the audience into a dark but beautiful world. Backed by a powerful harmonium organ, drums and percussion, Anna is able to swiftly change from an intimate subtle whisper to a dense orchestral backdrop. What comes out is a sound so haunting yet romantic, recalling such luminaries as PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, and Ennio Morricone.

Wise Man Said are a promising young outfit from South London, specialising in mellow, laid back and luscious indie pop reminiscent of Good Souls era Starsailor, Jeff Buckley and The Thrills. Already seasoned veterans of the capital’s gig circuit, it’s hard to not to see a bright future ahead for this lot.
