The turn out for the bands in August was pretty good so live music lives on to fight another day at Pinups - this month we actually have 4 bands (cos I made a balls of the booking) - Johnny Mouse's splendid new project Spy Movie ( www.myspace.com/spymovieuk ), melodramatic popular song from Electrolite ( www.myspace.com/electrolitetheband ), Matt from the Tall Boy (who played Pinups in August 05!)'s new band The Ex Men, who I think sound really really great (have a listen to the quite catchy and amazing "Life of Love" here - www.myspace.com/theexmen ) and last but not least some riotous action from Cuddly Shark ( www.myspace.com/cuddlyshark ).
The website www.pinup-nights.co.uk has been fixed (it only took 9 months...), and we have tried to jazz up the "book us" section a bit because we have actually been getting booked for things (we're doing a wedding (!) in September and heading to the Buttoned Down Disco at Camden's KOKO in January).
And finally, Pinup Nights' 5th Birthday will finally be marked in October with a special "Glam Night" featuring Guest DJ Patrick Wolf!! More details coming soon, but a link to the first punt at the flyer is below.
