DARREN HANLON
Darren Hanlon is an Australian singer/songwriter who has released three solo albums of finely crafted, folk-inspired pop songs on Candle Records. Before becoming a solo artist in 1999, he was a member of the Simpletons, and also contributed backing guitar and keyboards for the Lucksmiths.??
Darren is known for his engagement with his audiences, through his down-to-earth storytelling at live gigs as well as his often charming lyrics. He has toured with Billy Bragg, Violent Femmes and this year supported The Magnetic Fields on all dates of their European tour. Following an appearance at the prestigious End Of The Road festival this intimate solo show at the Troubadour will be his last before he returns to Australia.??
"Great storytelling... this is music about things that are real, heartfelt without being sentimental, poignant and playful where others might get syrupy sweet." (Popmatters)??

ALLO DARLIN’
Uke-wielding indie-folkster Elizabeth Darling and her friends play their finely wrought, witty pop tunes, possibly including their downtrodden reworking of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long”. Indisputable girl-pop masterpieces then, akin to the self-deprecating writings of Kirsty Macoll, and bittersweet funny, like forgotten outtakes from Joni Mitchell’s Blue. EP out on WeePop now.
“If I don’t get to hear a whole album soon, I might just explode.” (RetroLofi)
