THE VIRGINMARYS
"Harking back to the days where long unkempt hair and monstrous bluesy riffs were the norm, their sound is unashamedly 70s esque, but who cares when the songs are this good and the performance is so intense that it could literally peel the paint from walls?

Combining guitar playing that Jimmy Page would be proud of with throaty vocals that ooze rock 'n' roll is no easy task, yet this is exactly what the lead singer / guitarist manages whilst bass player and drummer provide a rock steady groove throughout a well paced and extremely loud set. Portrait of Red has some of the best lead guitar work you're likely to see, building upon the rhythm section's intricate work, whilst Off to Another Land hurtles along on a boogie that has me reaching for the whisky bottle as I head to accost some ladies on the dancefloor. Satellite builds spookily on a foundation of dark riffs and tumbling drumfills, with the spirit of Jim Morrison resurrected ast he vocals cut through the air with a menacing edge. With a recently inked local record deal, it surely won't be long before The Virginmarys go on to bigger and better things"

FOX FORCE FIVE
Fox Force Five come from Middleton, North Manchester and play songs with guitars, drums, bass, keyboards and words which are sung. These songs are both ridiculously bold and hopelessly romantic – and they wouldn’t have it any other way. They like lots of bands like Echo & The Bunnymen, The Stooges, The Manics, New Order, The Shins and The Beatles

EMERSON
Emerson are a Rock/Pop band based in Warrington/Manchester. They take their influences from many musical styles. However they claim their main infuencers such as Coldplay, The Verve, One Republic and The Fray to have inspired them to create their own unique sound. The group originally began with two members Andrew Gower and Michael Collins who formed an instant songwriting partnership with later additions following. Gowers instantly recognisibly powerful voice is at the fore front of all of the tracks and his lyrics speak of different situations in life that we can all relate to. The tracks ’Moving On’ and ’Flyin’ So High’ are the bands most popular songs and are particularly fan favourites at gigs. Drummer Todd Ryan and Bass player Alisdair Ramsey joined in 2007 and have been integral in moving the band forward throughout the past year. In December 2007 Emerson went into the studios to record the beginnings of their debut album and the band are currently in the process of recording more material. The new recordings Flyin’ So High, Moving On and Everything (But The Truth) have now been uploaded to the player so feel free to check them out

ADAM WEDD & THE INDEPENDENTS
"Distinguished singer-song writers are hard to come by. Often there is little to separate a busker on the streets of Tottenham Court Road from a multi-platinum artist playing Wembley Arena. What makes Kingston born Adam Wedd stand out from the crowd is his ability to fuse pop in its purest form with jazz inspired melodies. Perhaps his finest attribute is his singing voice which is as British as cups of tea and digestive biscuits. Every hook laden song leaves you recollecting the joys of your early childhood when one would jump in puddles and kick through piles of leaves. Adam plays with a regular assortment of gifted close friends which includes a full backing band and a flute player." -Luke Das
