(HighpointLowlife/Rock Action/Moamoo/Catmobile)

Hailing from the City of Leeds, Matt Robson's heady blend of fractured syncopated rhythms and autumnal melancholia has treaded a path around the hedges and edges of electronic music for the past 8 years, recording for the likes of Mogwai's Rock Action (where he scored a NME Dance Music Single of the Week), Highpoint Lowlife and Printed Circuit's very own imprint, Catmobile to name but a few. Tonight Robson will be showcasing material from his forthcoming album, "Modern Ambivalence", due for release on Moamoo in October.

Skeksi

Anyone who has spent any time at a recent Warp event will be well aware of Tom Knapp's skills and impeccable selections on the turntables. However, he has, for the past seven or so years, produced a vast amount of complex beat driven music calling to mind the crunchier moments of Team Shadatek or Autechre's more hip hop influenced workouts, much the same as the aforementioned mighty Mancunians, Knapp's Machine Drum/Mono Machine Driven set is an absolute must for any conouseur of teched out and tricked out rhythm music.

Hands & Fingers

Ste Hitchin's Hands & Finger's project shows it's face for maybe the last time before it's put into indefinite storage. Hitchin takes the blueprint of Fourtet and Mouse Parade and improves on it. Where his more famous contemporaries might grab a riff and hammer into submission, Hitchin has the subtlety of skill to turn the familiar folktronic genre into something much more special and memorable. When Hitchin is not being Hands & Fingers, he can be found on bass and keyboards in Chris Adam's Bracken project.

Quip

Perhaps the hardest working live performer in Leeds electronica? Quip has treaded the boards of many a stage and brings his knowledge of how to work a crowd to the Brudenell. Bold, catchy and unafraid to bring out the big harmonies and chunky beats, Quips reportiore can swing anywhere; from Prefuse style tricked out hip hop, through skewed electronic pop to filthy electro. How party it gets, all depends on how much you are prepared to get up.
