Other Sounds present the first night of our monthly residency (yay!) as an evening of folk songs for friendly faces and open fires, playing host to three storytellers from across the Pennines:

ALI WHITTON: little-boy-lost from New Zealand via Harrogate with threadbare pockets full of worldly-aware, youthfully-innocent songs that’ll carefully slice into your heart with smiles and tears

DAVID BROAD: Leeds’ wisest sage sings folktales creaking with the wood o’ the trees and the squeak in the floorboards. Medicinal like honey in your tea; dark like a nightwalk in the forests…

MICHAEL ROSSITER: warm vocals and rippling acoustics like embers at dusk and twinkles in the stream

Plus: a joint set from Rossiter and Broad; the homely environs of Trof; cosy drinking and contentment. What more could you possibly want? My money? My house? My soul? Jesus.
