THE BLACK LIPS
Though barely in their 20s, Atlanta, Georgia's Black Lips have built a rabid cult following through a heap of releases for the likes of Bomp! and In The Red Records, as well as earning a well-deserved reputation as one of the wildest live bands around, due to onstage fist fights, arson, projectile vomiting and the guitarist's somewhat enviable ability to pee into his own mouth! Formed with the intention of crossing the sound of the mid-60's 'Back From The Grave' Zombi-psych compilations with the slop-punk of the Germs, The Black Lips are conistently one of the most vital and unique garage bands around. This is their second UTR show of 2007, following a killer sold out show at Barden's back in February. A new live LP, entitled 'Los Valentes Del Mundo Nuevo' and recorded with a full Mariachi band in Tijuana, is out now on Vice Records.

SHY CHILD
Shy Child is a band from New York City consisting of Pete Cafarella on vocals and keytar and Nate Smith on drums. The duo was formed in New York in the summer of 2000, Cafarella and Smith having previously played together in the band El Guapo (now Supersystem). They have a new album out on Wall of Sound and Say Hey this Summer, and are touring the UK later this month with Klaxons.

THE STICKS
Swapping between cheap guitar and stripped down kit, these two Brighton fellas wrestle a stompin' gooey blues mess from their instruments, akin to Coachwhips or Country Teasers, with the rudimentary ideas found in the more inept efforts of mid-sixties teen bands such as The Chimney Sweeps, The Keggs or The Shaggs thrown in for good measure. All in all, they're an awesome, clattering, runaway train of a party band! A split 10" with Hands on Heads is due out on UTR Records in May.
