* SHEPHERDS PI are a musical melange of every band you've fallen in love with over the past 2 years. The witty lyricism of Alex Turner and Mike Skinner, the knack for a pop hook like The Kooks, the joy you felt when you first witnessed The Magic Numbers or The Polyphonic Spree. Based around the vocal talents of Rupert Hill, the rapping bass player Sam Stockman and the lush harmonies of Ms Hazeldine. At the back on the tubthumper Claire Russell creates a symmetry that alligns them as the indie Abba (or a better looking Magic Numbers for those too cool for school)

"SHEPHERDS Pi seem to make songs about getting knickers in a twist, mash potato sandwiches and scarecrows - all with a cockney rapping twist - very entertaining. Chas and Dave have been trying to do that for years, and are still trying" - ManchesterOnline.com

* CARLIS STAR - Manchester based band Carlis Star formed in the summer of 2006. The 7 piece capture elements from recent decades gone by and turn them into their own style. Influences range from the dynamic structure of Wojciech Kilar, the buzz guitar of Iggy & the Stooges to the modern electro styles of M83.

"Combined with their vocal harmonies, ephemeral orchestration and engaging melodic twists, should allow Mr. Wilson (Brian Wilson) to rest in peace, knowing that his legacy is in safe hands." - Glasswerk

* THE SIDELINES - The History. We got our act together and started f*ckin playin. They describe themselves as "Arctic Monkeys meet Stevie Wondor on crack, with a bit of jazz" which is pretty damn accurate for this young band from South Manchester.

* SANDBOX - After releasing their new ep 'Back to the City' at the end of October, sandbox finish their short tour by returning home to Manchester to play Night & Day on November 28th. Sandbox have previously supported Howling Bells, Serena Maneesh, Rooster and Lorraine.

"A full-on rocking prospect. With front-woman Lennie at the helm, there’s no escaping their clutches ...They could just break out of this city yet."
