Listen to DiS Radio on-the-go with Mixcloud's new free iPhone app

News by Sean Adams

DiS embraced the platform around its launch, impressed that someone had finally solved a lot of the royalty related problems which forced us to stop DiS radio. Last year we did a a few mixes and uploaded them, and earlier this year we relaunched DiS Radio, with a special show (you'll find all of these compiled here. We've plenty more planned and we're very pleased that, with their free iPhone app, you can now take our radio show away from the computer and listen to it on your commute. »

Lady GaGa - Born This Way

Review by Sean Adams

Unlike Madonna who seemed to just ingest cool genres, it seems from the very concept of this album and woven into her manifesto, that Lady Gaga gets far more about the modern world than she's letting on.»

Watch: Kaiser Chiefs return with broody-broody-broody new track 'Little Shocks'

News by Sean Adams

Yesterday, BBC Radio1's Zane Lowe premiered the brand new track from Leeds' (Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!), finest peddlers of cheeky indie pop, Kaiser Chiefs. 'Little Shocks' is a different beast to a lot of the Kaisers stuff before it, shuffling somewhere between Maximo Park's bubbling key-throbs and Oasis' guitar snarls. In fact, it sounds a little like the live version of 'Everyday I Love You Less and Less' and perhaps signals a (welcome) departure from their irritating-to-many trademark summer-anthem uh-uh-uhs and oh-ohs »

Spotifriday #92: Nick Cave, Death Cab, Suede, Tom Vek, The Rapture

In Depth by Sean Adams

It's f-f-f-f-f-f-f-f-f-f-fuh-Friday! Here's our Spotify playlist running down the week that was, well, it was somewhat won by re-issues and threads about pop-punk. Who says we need to be cutting edge all-day everyday? Not Napster co-founder Sean Parker, that's for sure. In fact, I'm a bit a neophobe, and sick of the constant churnover of new bands. But if you want to hear me bang on like the boringest guy in the pub, just follow me on twitter @seaninsound. »

Frightened Rabbit's track-by-track guide to Sing The Greys by Scott Hutchison

In Depth by Sean Adams

Tonight, in Edinburgh, DiS-favourites Frightened Rabbit are playing a special show, as their original 3 piece line up, playing their debut album Sing The Greys. The album was originally released as a limited edition run of 1000 copies, on this day back in May 2006 (yes, that is five years ago) before getting revamped, re-mixed, re-mastered and re-released on Fat Cat. Seeing as it's fresh in his mind ahead of tonight's show, we asked singer and writer of the songs, Scott Hutchison to walk and talk us through the album, track-by-track...»
