Cheerleader

Hair Out

Label: Juice Dog Records Release Date: 14/04/2003

3487
rubbafish by Colin Weston March 13th, 2003

Girls rock! I know, very monosyllabic but it is true and when it comes to girls with attitude, well that is even better.

From the UK's capital via a mini adventure (check the band's profile) come Cheerleader and with their debut single comes the bile and vitriol missing from the punk rock scene at the moment. Coming on like an amalgamation of Hole and Starcrasher, 'Hair Out' has Americana running through it in the best possible way. It's in your face, angry, brash and, above all, has a cool riff to carry it through.

It seems like a life time ago since Birmingham's finest girl rockers decided to call it a day and we have been waiting patiently for a band to fill the void left by Twist, this however could well be it!
