This is possibly one of the longest times any band has had to wait for a review from my lame ass. Due to circumstances beyond my control (HONEST!!!), this review is nearly 5 months to the day in the making and I am almost ashamed I kept a band this good away from you this long!

First off, if anyone tells you the best band in Colchester at the moment is Hirameka Hi-Fi, they obviously haven't seen these guys live! Secondly, yes, the band are all beautiful but they have a talent that takes it away from being their selling point and just makes it part of the complete package (wanna take note there most nu-glam bands!)

From the opening of 'Teenage Communist Flirtation' (hear a sample of it here), the band show what they are about. Clocking in at under 3 minutes, the funky riff intro and punk-esque 'Double Dragon' intro (if you ever played the game in the arcade, you will know what I mean) leading in to the sinply beautiful harmonies of Juliana Meyer & Fiona Bevan and topped off with the most damning lyrics to the lethargic generation we live in... 'When we can be bothered we'll unite'... indeed!

'Dive' takes the band in a different direction, a direction paved by bands such as The Cranberries (yes I dared to compare someone to the superb Cranberries) but with a more raw, tinny sound but you can't hide the bands talent, especially the varied drumming of Andy Fell which is superb all the way through the album.

'Social Insecurity**' is a single or perfect demo material to hawk around if ever I heard one! With the simply riffalicous intro and chugging guitar in the background before breaking into a bittersweet melody.

'Smokedrifts' starts with a piano tearing at the heart strings and the introducion of a violin makes for a perfect, albeit slightly dark, soundscape.

'Love Tune' is funk in it's purest form and if you don't jive, you need to be bought back to life baby, dig it??

Finishing off with 'My Perspective', a brooding 5 minute epic that just gently simmers and threatens to boil over for over a minute before doing so too raptorous applause (well, me tapping my foot in bedroom, but you know what I mean) and going into a simply classic guitar solo Eddie Van Halen woulda enjoyed in his heyday!

In a nutshell, you should have left to go the shops by now to buy this 12 track album with all your hard earned money or gone to their website to find out when they are gigging next so you can see them live... well, what are you waiting for? JUMP TO IT!!!
