Acoustic Tourin Brakes
sean by Sean Adams September 7th, 2002
Turin Brakes, are back (ish) with an acoustic tour at the end of September...

Those swoonfully boootiful blue-boys who stole our hearts with their timeless pop gems during the apparent, new accoustic movement, ebbing like the waves of change from their dusty debut 'The Optimist', filled with its surreal pictures to paste all over the inside of your cracked skull; are back.

Well anyway, they hit a studio in LA a little while ago to start on the second LP (yet to be titled) and are finishing the planned springtime release at the mo' in London. To wet our appetites they're putting out a single 'Long Distance' on October 6th and they're playing the following, special, acoustic shows which Turinbrakes.com reports will have "a 'visual' element". We suspect that means a big projector with strange cinematics.

And the dates are...

September
21st - Glasgow Henry Wood Hall (0870 169 0100)
22nd - Dublin Rupert Guinness Theatre (0870 243 4455)
23rd - Belfast Empire Music hall (02890 249276)
24th - Bristol St Georges Hall (0117 923 0359)
25th - Newcastle Opera House SHELTER benefit (0191 232 0899)
26th - Manchester Royal Northern College of Music. (0161 832 1111)
27th - Leeds Civic Theatre (0113 214 5315 / 5340)
29th - London Shepherds Bush Empire (0870 771 2000)
30th - London Shephards Bush Empire
