Wannabe fame-ous and get a deal?
sean by Sean Adams July 25th, 2002
The BBC are looking for YOU! Well, maybe you, but they are looking for songwriters and stars... not false-icons! (not that it states that!) For a reality tv, meets documentary, meets quiz show...

It's being billed as "the biggest prize in showbiz history" and although the adverts make it look like drama school luvvies need only apply, the producers (Initial Entertainment) have stressed it is aimed primiarly at people with geniune talent. If you're the next Nina Simone, Tom Waits, Pj Harvey, Marilyn Manson, Robbie Williams, Kylie, Busta Rhymes or even David Gray, please read on and enter...

BBC Entertainment, are looking for 12 people to take part in the show which says it's about: "The realities of what it takes to become a music superstar will be exposed as leading specialists from all fields of the industry give students the best professional training there is – from performance to behind-the-scenes preparation. Some of the biggest stars of today will visit the Academy to give further advice and support as the students train to become the ultimate performers. The challenge is to stay ahead, as each week those who aren’t making the grade have to leave the Academy." Yes, a bit like big brother, a bit like popstars, but a bit more depth to it than them.

The producers have already made this a great sucess in Holland, France and Spain, so now it's our turn to sit on our butts and interact by voting or get off your sofa and show us what you've got. The winner is bound to have a instant number 1 and the shows bound to bring up some interesting dichotomies of how things work.

To enter you need to send a short VHS tape of you performing a well-known song to: FAME, PO BOX 32702, LONDON, W14 0WB. Enclose your name, address and contact telephone numbers. Tapes are non-returnable and successful applicants will be contacted by phone. The deadline for tapes is 5th August 2002.

Or.... you can goto one of the auditions nearest to you. They work on a first-come, first-seen basis and run from 9am-7pm and you need bring a full-length photo with you to the following...
