The Hives: "we are prisoners to our own creativity"
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver August 8th, 2007

Swedish rock five-piece The Hives are no closer to announcing a release date for their new album, The Black And White Album, claiming that they are "prisoners to our own creativity".

The follow-up to 2004's Tyrannosaurus Hives has been worked on by many cooks: Pharrell Williams tinkered with the band in Miami, Jacknife Lee in London, and are currently in Oxford with Modest Mouse producer Dennis Herring. Will the broth be any good? I'm hungry. Singer Pelle Almvquist has said of the anticipated LP:

"This new album has been recorded all over the world because we thought it was time to have other people involved besides ourselves and our closest friends.

"At times it has felt like we are prisoners to our own creativity and that it is taking a long time. At this time we have a lot of songs. In the past we only had what was on each album. We ask you to bear with us as we take the time to wrestle this onto an album."

Wrestling bears? The Hives will soon be seen stateside supporting Maroon 5. Yum. Lunch, anyone...?
