Save The Spitz Update: petitions, donations, support
benmarwood by ben marwood April 24th, 2007

As previously reported here, as well as a fair few other places, The Spitz in Old Spitalfields Market is being faced with closure after being served with an eviction notice from their property-developer landlords Ballymore Properties, which could be enforced as early as September.

You demanded action, so we're here to point you in the right direction. By constructively rewording bits of the press release. It’s not cheating - they make you do it in school.

There are a couple of ways you can join the Save The Spitz campaign, one of which is totally free. The online petition can be found here, and has so far collected over 2,000 signatures. Anyone who wishes to aid The Spitz in their fight against their gastropub-loving foe may also make a donation to the cause by clicking hyah.

Save The Spitz has received support from Beth Orton and Ken Livingstone, amongst others (and DiS, in person, just the other night). You can read their quotes, as well as find out more about the campaign, here.
