DiS thanks you: highest ever readership figures
crablin by Colin Roberts November 20th, 2006
and Mike Diver

We'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you!

DiS is excited to announce our successes and continued growth and to thank you for you help getting here.

Last week, for the first time, we hit more than 150,000 unique readers in a week, setting a new record for our readership and confirming our position as Europe's most popular independent music website.

When I found out this news, I bought a delicious sandwich and ate it, followed by a 'Daim' bar and a can of new-rave Cream Soda. We know how to celebrate at Drowned in Sound. Once I drank some wine!

Anyway, we'd just like to offer a hand of thanks, a goody bag and a small peck on the cheek in return for your loyal readership and recommending of the site to your friends/enemies/bands/brothers/children/Rupert Murdoch over the past six years. We've got this far and we're confident it's only up from here.

As an additional prize, please enjoy a photograph of Drowned in Sound's in-house content editor, Michael Diver.

Wish us luck as myself and the aforementioned Diver attend Tuesday (21st) night's Record of the Day awards for Music Journalism & PR, where DiS is up for Best Website, Best Podcast, Mike and Raziq Rauf are nominated for writing awards and I'm up for Best Editor. We'd like to win something, and then fall over.
