Raynor Sessions hit Steel City
dionisio by Rob Webb October 11th, 2006
and Gary Wolstenholme

To mark the beginning of the new term, the University of Sheffield is putting on a number of gigs curated by bands and the lovely folks from South Yorkshire's thriving music scene. The first one is next Wednesday (October 18) and features hotly tipped indie-folk outfit Tiny Dancers, soon to release their first EP on Parlophone, Lennie and Slow Club.

Tickets are available from the Union box office and other select Sheffield outlets, open to non students too (but we're told to still expect silly drinks prices like £1.95 for a pint of Grolsch or Strongbow and only £6.50 for a bottle of wine... can't be bad!)

The schedule reads something like this:

Tiny Dancers, 18.10.06
Tiny Dancers +
Slow Club +
Lennie +
Visuals from Mount Pleasant

Giovanni Chrome Recordings, 08.11.06
The pioneering Sheffield electronic label presents:
Meat for a Dark Day +
Andy Votel +
Winter North Atlantic +
Benjamin +
Nogui

Thee Sheffield Phonographic Corporation, 22.11.06
Lineup TBC

Forever Changes, 06.12.06
Possibly the best record shop in Sheffield presents possibly the best gig in Sheffield:
