New Free Entry Monthly London DiS Night - Reminder
New Free Entry Monthly London DiS Night - Reminder
sean by Sean Adams November 22nd, 2004
Here's a gentle reminder about our free-entry monthly DiS night in London. Come down, discover some great new bands...

Drowned in Sound presents…
…in association with Plum Promotions
…in aid of Oxfam' Make Trade Fair Campaign.

Monday 22nd November 2004
@ The Marquee
1, Leicester Square, London
Nearest Tube: Leicester Square
Doors: 7.30pm – arrive early to avoid disappointment

FLEEING NEW YORK
Quite possibly the most exciting new bands in Britain, with pop suss of the 80s fringe variety and the drifting cool of Detroit and Dandy Warhols. These pesky indie kids from Southampton have been creating quite a stir, come see why we’ve been raving about them for months.
Sample Track: 'Hollywood Bowl'

CRANEBUILDERS
Their gliding brand of art-pop caught the ears of none other than Elbow’s Guy Garvey and the folks of I Am Kloot, who snapped up these Liverpudlians for their Skinny Dog label. In a parallel world they're probably what Belle & Sebastian would make with The Fall and The Postal Service.
Sample Track: 'Bitch'

MY LUMINARIES
Giant thumping pop rock, rather like a widescreen Fountains Of Wayne. Their new recordings have caught the ears of many a record company man, and armed with tracks like the nagging, insatiable 'All I Really Want', it's not too surprising at all.

Entry: FREE to members (get free membership here) / £5

DiScuss See you down the front? What do you think of these bands? Who do you suggest should play our next night?
