Formerly known as Devolution, death metal quartet Sanctorum are:

Aaron Sly - vocals/rhythm guitar
Ash Lewis - lead guitar
Chris Eldridge - bass/backing vocals
Matt Alston - drums

Formed in late 2002, Devolution supported local bands on the Colchester scene before self-releasing a 4-track EP in 2003. Realising in 2005 that just about every town in the UK has a band called Devolution, they quickly became Sanctorum and gained the attention of producer Mark Daghorn.

After entering his New Rising Studio and emerging with their debut album, The Heavens Shall Burn, Sanctorum signed to Daghorn's record label Rising Records.
