Olympic Lifts

Bio

Olympic Lifts' music is a simultaneous soundclash as samples surface and play tag with guitar riffs. If Beck was Irish and drank too much coffee his records might sound like this.

The Olympic Lifts have been described as the Beastie Boys new favourite band and as delinquent cousins of Gonzales. They hail from Belfast and are signed to electro pop label Bungalow (home of Stereo Total and Le Hammond Inferno) and published by Mute Song. Their first LP (Do One) was recorded at Amber, Berlin’s legendary hip hop studio, and mastered in NYC by Howie Weinberg,.

They've shared stages with the likes of DJ Cool Herc, David Holmes, Midfield General, 3rd Eye Foundation, Lo-Fidelity Allstars and Supergrass but there's a rowdiness in their rhythms that also nods to Dirty Beatniks, Urban Dance Squad and occasionally even Junkie XL. DJ Mark has also worked his decks at the launch of David Holmes' LP and the Ash end of tour aftershow party.

Olympic Lifts are the guitar/dance/hip hop crossover band we've all been waiting for!(George)
