Somewhere between the pop-rock bounciness of Feeder and the glammed-up resonating attitude and swagger of DNA Doll lies a niche from which three men going by the collective guise of BushBaby are deviously emerging.

Single, ‘Skinny’, is a perfect example of how straight-up, no-frills, raw pop genius ought to be. Chunky, fat guitar parts leading the way to brash, spiky vocals; choruses that make your toes compulsively tap and a melody that’ll echo in your mind for hours to come. If you’re looking for hidden metaphors, poetic soundscapes and boundry-breaking new concepts you might wanna give this one a miss. But if, like me, you’re just as happy with a three-minute blast of simple and honest, vivacious bubble-gum rock, BushBaby are certainly ones to watch!
