Simian

Mr Crow

Label: Source Release Date: 30/11/1999

1421
gdobson by Gareth Dobson March 10th, 2002

This is the second single to be released from Simian’s disappointing LP 'Chemistry Is What We Are', which failed to meet the standards set by Source label-mates Kings of Convenience and Turin Brakes last year.

This song is a lopsided shuffle in the vein of Englishness past in which singer Simon Lord muses of a Mr Crow who, bless him, sounds just like another Boo Radley, otherworldliness and all. The band are more than happy to note that they have been compared to Barrett, Beatles and Beach Boys. I’d be flattered too, but perhaps a little embarrassed as well.
