Tetra Splendour

Pollen Fever

Label: Chrysalis Release Date: 25/02/2002

1395
_kp_ by Kate Price March 4th, 2002

_ “I’ve got pollen in my eye,

And it’s making me cry,

However much I try,

It’s making me cry”

_

I can confidently predict that the very first time you hear ‘Pollen Fever’ by Tetra Splendour, your instant reaction with run along the lines of “Oh myyyy gawwwwd! These lyrics are awful!” But, by about the third time you hear it you won’t consciously care, and by around the fifth time through, you’ll simply adore it. ‘Pollen Fever’ is one of those nifty little tunes that, unbeknown to yourself, grows on your mind and steals your heart.

In this case, the relatively simple and somewhat repetitive lyrics bring about an element of genuineness and captivity to an otherwise more complicated musical composition. It’s a sweet, sincere, sumptuous little number, which on seducing your eardrums, dissolves the worries of your world into a floaty feeling of weightlessness and contentment.

Kiddies have their teddies for comfort, Kate Price, however, has her newly found Tetra Splendour single. Hoo-rah!
