Obsessive Compulsive

Crash / Perfect Wreck

Label:

mmarsh by Mark Marsh October 10th, 2001

Unsigned bands typical fall into one of two categories: Good or Shite. However Obsessive Compulsive (thank God) are neither for they are not your typical unsigned band, OC are rather excellent as a matter of fact.

Having played this 2 track red piece of plastic musical goodness damn near everywhere at varying volumes it’s become a part of my morning routine. I found myself subconsciously humming the riffs of ‘Crash’ on the bus to college this morning and whispering the hook line for the second track ‘Perfect Wreck’ instead of working. I have a feeling OC are going to perfectly wreck (ingenious pun non?) my education, but to be honest, I can’t think of anything better to slide downhill with.

Wow I’ve just re-read that second paragraph and I would like to point out I am neither a family member nor a friend, just in case you were wondering.

Kelii is without a doubt an outstanding vocal talent, with a voice like hers I wouldn’t of been surprised to see her on TOTP bouncing around to some chart topping synth number. Luckily, **Lee the band’s riff monster has an extremely wide streak of creativity and playing talent… Keeping two jewels away from the horrors of pop and with the extremely grateful rock scene.

OC’s self-described sound of ‘twisted, sleaze-glam band, the pissed off love child of Belinda Carlisle and Axl Rose’ is a genuine must hear experience.

With such a versatile vocalist and an obviously talented guitarist this band will go far. I can’t think of enough good things to say about them, so go to their site grab some MP3’s and say all the good things yourself. NOW!

They don’t deserve your listening time. They demand it!
