Alpha Beta Gaga

Label: Source Release Date: 09/08/2004

gdobson by Gareth Dobson August 9th, 2004

Interesting one this; 'Alpha Beta Gaga' is a decent Lemon Jelly-esque bouncing piece of electronica with acoustic thrums and an infectious (possibly irritating after too many listens) whistle guiding it along. In fact, you could say it's a typical track from Air's fourth return-to-form LP 'Talkie Walkie'.

And then MC Ryhmefest comes along a smashes the crap out of it on his co-hort Mark Ronson's remix. Ryhmefest is an Indianapolis-based rapper who clearly knows his way round a scattershot phrase or two. It's a much preferable alteration to the track in fact, lending the tune a nice edge. If a 'nice edge' means making it sound like an explosion in a Busta Rhymes factory. Quality.
